The Mission of Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans is to educate and connect children and adults with disabilities and special health care needs, and their families to resources, services, and supports to attend school, work, and thrive in their communities.

Empowering Families, Changing Lives

Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans provides vital resources, training, and peer support to individuals with disabilities and their families. Each year, we assist thousands in navigating education systems, home and community-based supports, and self-advocacy.

Our services include:

Information & Resources - We connect families to essential services, helping them navigate available supports. Our Exceptional Times digital magazine, LA Lagniappe newsletter, and extensive online resources empower families with knowledge to make informed decisions.

Education & Training - We offer workshops on Special Education Rights, IEPs, Transition Planning, Behavior Rights, and more, equipping families to advocate effectively.

Peer Support - As parents of children with disabilities or individuals with disabilities, our staff provide direct support, encouragement, and guidance to those facing similar challenges.
