GiveNOLA Day is one of my favorite days of the year, a moment when our Greater New Orleans community comes together with purpose, generosity, and heart.
As Executive Director of Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans, I have the honor of witnessing every day what happens when families have the support they need.
Families reach out to us during some of their most uncertain moments. They are working through special education, disability services, early intervention, healthcare systems, and decisions that impact their child’s future. It can feel overwhelming, and at times, isolating.
That is why our mission matters so deeply to me: no family should have to navigate disability alone.
Our team walks alongside parents, caregivers, and youth with disabilities, offering clear information, trusted guidance, and meaningful connections. Whether it is preparing for an IEP meeting, understanding available services, or simply having someone listen and provide direction, we are here every step of the way.
GiveNOLA Day makes this work possible.
Because of your support, we can continue providing free, high-quality services to families throughout our community. Your generosity ensures that when a family reaches out, they are met with compassion, understanding, and real support.
This year, I invite you to deepen your impact by creating a Peer-to-Peer fundraising page.
When you share your story, why this mission matters to you, who inspires you, or what Families Helping Families means in your life, you help extend our reach and connect more families to the support they deserve.
Every contribution makes a difference.
A donation can help a parent access important resources.
It can support a family preparing for a school meeting.
It can allow us to offer training that builds confidence and knowledge.
It can strengthen advocacy efforts that influence better outcomes for children and youth.
GiveNOLA Day is more than a fundraiser. It is a reflection of what is possible when a community comes together to support one another.
On behalf of Families Helping Families of Greater New Orleans, I want to personally thank you.
Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you for sharing your voice.
Thank you for helping us reach families across our region.
With gratitude,
Laura S. Nata
Executive Director
