The Juror Project is working to strengthen the power of the jury by making sure the people who step into that space are prepared, supported, and equipped with real skill.

This GiveNOLA Day, we are raising funds to remove a clear barrier to access.

The Just Juries Institute is a 2.5 day intensive designed for public defenders and criminal defense attorneys who are actively working to protect the integrity of the jury process. The training focuses on building skill in voir dire and strengthening fair cross section challenges, two areas that directly shape who ends up in the jury box and how justice is carried out.

The cost to attend is $650.

We recognize for some attorneys doing this work, especially public defenders, that cost can be out of reach.

We are raising $1,950 to fund 3 full scholarships. Each scholarship places one more trained advocate in a courtroom, better prepared to identify bias, question jurors effectively, and protect the right to a fair jury.

If we reach $3,250, we can fund 5 scholarships.

This training reflects real expertise, and the people leading it deserve to be compensated for their work. At the same time, cost should not determine who gets access to these skills. These scholarships allow us to hold both, supporting fair pay while expanding access.

When you give, you are helping ensure that the people standing in defense of your family, friends and neighbors have the tools to do it well.

Thank you,

The Juror Project
