I am a full time volunteer and board member

Every time I see a pet in our community who is not getting what they deserve because their family is struggling financially, it stays with me. And every time I meet a pet owner who loves their animal deeply and who would give them every toy, every treat, every veterinary visit, every ounce of training and care if they could but simply cannot afford it, it hits me hard.

Love is there, but access is missing.

I know that if that dog needs a veterinary appointment, we can help make it happen.

If that pet is at risk for Heartworm Disease because prevention is out of reach, we can step in before a preventable disease becomes a tragedy.

If behavioral issues are causing a family to consider surrendering to a shelter, we want to be there for that family. 

Animal welfare is a community responsibility, and New Orleans is personal for us. 

We show up without judgment, drama, or barriers. We meet people where they are, with open arms and open hearts, and we do everything in our power to keep pets safe, healthy, and home where they belong.

I know this works because we have seen it work.

We do this every single day.

And we are only getting better.

Others are paying attention to what we are building. National organizations, pharmaceutical companies, and industry partners recognize the shift toward access to care and prevention-focused animal welfare and have joined it.

Because the truth is, as the saying goes, we have to stop pulling people from the river and go upstream to find out why they are falling in.
