Dear friends,
My name is Saran Bynum. As a Board Member of Friends of Tremé Culture, and Parade Co-coordinator for the Tremé Fall Festival parade I'm excited to participate in GiveNOLA Day this year. We're asking you to donate to support the Tremé Fall Festival being held on Saturday, October 24, 2026 to keep the culture of Tremé alive.
I am a native New Orleanian, a proud Culture Bearer, and for over 20 years I have carried on a tradition that lives deep in the heart of our city as a living Babydoll. I am Babydoll Chyna, and preserving our culture isn’t just something I do it’s who I am.
This work is rooted in family, legacy, and love. When my aunt and uncle, Adolph Bynum Sr. and Naydja Bynum, founded the Tremé Fall Festival, I felt honored to be part of something so meaningful to our community. Later, I was entrusted with co-coordinating the Tremé Fall Festival Parade a role I embraced wholeheartedly. Our Culture Bearers in Tremé deserve to be seen, celebrated, and supported, and this parade is one way we uplift their contributions.
Now in our 4th year, the Tremé Fall Festival Parade continues to grow becoming more vibrant and impactful with each passing year. This progress is made possible by supporters like you who believe in the importance of preserving our cultural traditions.
My goal is to raise $1,500 to support the Tremé Fall Festival and advance our mission to preserve and celebrate Tremé’s cultural legacy.
This campaign will help us:
• Increase visibility and awareness of Friends of Tremé Culture and the Tremé Fall Festival
• Strengthen connections between culture bearers, residents, and advocates
• Build momentum for both the festival and its long-term sustainability
Funds raised will directly support:
• The Tremé Fall Festival as a free, community-centered event
• Micro-grants for local nonprofits, culture bearers, and tradition keepers
• Programming that uplifts and sustains Tremé’s rich cultural identity
This is more than a festival it’s a living tradition. With your support, we can continue to honor our past, celebrate our present, and invest in our future.
Thank you for helping us keep the culture alive.
