Tremé Fall Festival

A nonprofit organization

Friends of Tremé Culture (FOTC) is dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sustaining the rich cultural legacy of the historic Tremé neighborhood—one of the oldest Black communities in the United States and a cornerstone of global Black culture.

Through signature programs like the Tremé Fall Festival, FOTC uplifts the music, art, and traditions that define Tremé while creating meaningful opportunities for local artists, musicians, and culture bearers. Our work centers on honoring living culture—ensuring that the traditions born in Tremé continue to thrive for future generations.

FOTC’s mission extends beyond celebration. We are actively engaged in:

  • Cultural preservation and storytelling, documenting and sharing Tremé’s history
  • Historic and architectural preservation, protecting the physical legacy of the neighborhood
  • Youth engagement and education, passing traditions to the next generation
  • Environmental and community resilience, supporting a sustainable future for Tremé

By investing in both people and place, FOTC serves as a steward of Tremé’s past, present, and future.

Through partnerships, community-driven programming, and advocacy, FOTC ensures that Tremé remains a vibrant, living cultural center—rooted in tradition and evolving with purpose.

We don’t just celebrate culture—we help sustain it.

Mission
