Since it's inception, Children's Bureau has been an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families in the Greater New Orleans area through proven, trauma-informed, healing-centered approaches that enhance mental health and wellness, primarily for those from historically marginalized communities.

Now in my second year as a clinician, I have the honor of being one of the therapists at our Jefferson based partnership, the Jefferson Children's Advocacy Center. Here, we service children and families who have experienced sexual or physical abuse or have been witnesses to community violence. Many people, when I tell them what I do for a living, often focus on the heaviness of my client's experiences. And yes, trauma is a heavy load to carry. However, people often forget just how resilient children can be. 

Through providing trauma-informed care to my clients, I get to witness a beautiful healing journey with them and their caregivers. I tell each client and family I see, just how appreciative I am for them allowing me into their world and to bear witness to their therapeutic transformation. 

A donation to the Children's Bureau of New Orleans ensures that children, youth and families in the Greater New Orleans Area will continue to receive mental health care when they need it most -- at no cost to the families we serve.
