Be Loud Studios amplifies youth confidence through radio production in New Orleans. We youth kids turn screens into tools for self-expression and courageous collaboration.

We're living in a moment when too many teens feel disconnected, unsafe, and unseen. Rising mental health challenges and social isolation are taking a toll. Be Loud creates spaces where youth feel heard, confident, and connected. Research shows that when young people have the agency to speak out on issues impacting their lives, it protects their mental health.

Be Loud was founded in 2019 by two teachers who knew their students were disengaged from traditional schoolwork. They needed a space where they could be themselves and express themselves authentically. What started as a student-led radio station has grown into a city-wide community where teens, especially Black youth, can write, interview, and produce stories that reflect their experiences.

We need your help! Your donation funds:

• Summer Camp Scholarships: a place where youth build real-world media skills, grow confidence, and use their voice.
• Teens Talk AI: a hands-on series where high schoolers explore artificial intelligence, media, and ethics while creating their own stories about the future.
• Misinformation and Our Community: A 5-day storytelling program where young people explore how misinformation affects their communities, conduct interviews with local experts, and produce a final broadcast-ready story.

Together, these programs will provide 80 youth with the tools and confidence to tell their stories, engage with real issues, and broadcast their voices when we need to hear them most.
