This year, your support will help us take a major step forward by hiring our first-ever medical staff provider, a nurse practitioner. After nearly 20 years of delivering care through a dedicated network of volunteer clinicians, this role will support our 20 volunteer clinicians, expand access to care, strengthen follow-up and continuity, and allow us to serve more patients.

Why Your Support Is Needed Right Now

In our community, too many people fall into the gap, working hard but unable to afford healthcare. While safety-net resources like FQHCs and hospitals are essential, they can be difficult to access due to cost, language barriers, long wait times, and complex systems. As a result, care is often delayed until a crisis. Luke’s House Clinic offers something different: completely free, consistent, compassionate care that helps patients stay healthy and avoid emergencies.

In this moment, access to healthcare is becoming even more uncertain for the communities we serve. Many of our patients are uninsured, Spanish-speaking, and face increasing barriers to care, from cost to language access to fear and confusion about where it is safe to go. Luke’s House remains a trusted place where patients can receive care without insurance, without fear, and in their own language.

Founded in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Luke’s House Clinic exists to be a place of medical hope, health, and healing, to provide patient-centered educational experiences for students, and to open a doorway to long-term healthcare solutions.

For nearly two decades, Luke’s House has been a trusted resource, providing free, bilingual medical care to those who need it most, no insurance or ID required.

We offer wellness exams, immunizations, and physicals for children and adults. Our Women’s Health program provides gynecological care and cancer screenings. Our Vision Clinic offers free eye exams, prescription glasses, and referrals for serious conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. We provide counseling in English and Spanish for those facing stress, anxiety, or trauma. Our Health Education program supports patients managing diabetes and hypertension with at-home monitoring and guidance. We also help patients navigate access to specialty and long-term care through our hospital partners.

As a teaching clinic, Luke’s House trains over 100 medical students each year, preparing the next generation of providers to deliver culturally and linguistically competent care.
