Tipitina's Foundation promotes childhood music education, the professional development of adult musicians, & the increased profile and viability of Louisiana music as a cultural, educational, & economic resource. With $3.2 million in musical instruments placed in more than 101 Louisiana school programs, Tipitina's Foundation supports Louisiana's irreplaceable music community & preserves the state's unique musical cultures.

Tipitina's Foundation fulfills its mission through four main programs:
- Instruments A Comin', an ongoing program that has placed millions of dollars worth of musical instruments in Louisiana school band programs.
- Sunday Youth Music Workshops, an ongoing series of free workshops where students of all ages play and learn with some of the region's best musicians on the legendary stage at Tipitina's Uptown club.
- Tipitina's Internship Program, a free after-school jazz and digital recording program for high school-aged musicians under the artistic direction of jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison, Jr.
- Tipitina's Music Office Co-Ops, a statewide network of workforce development, job skills training and resource centers for musicians, filmmakers, and other media professionals.
