Since 1980, The Parenting Center has been a place where families can find connection, support, and guidance through every stage of parenthood. Founded as a partnership between the Junior League of New Orleans and Children’s Hospital, the center began as a small program and has since grown into a trusted community resource.

We are a unique community resource providing free and low-cost services and education to parents faced with everyday challenges and concerns of raising children. Our services include:

• A baby room designed for little ones not yet walking

• A playroom for parents and grandparents to play with their children (3 and under)

• Free bi-weekly interactive music sessions

• “Snuggles and Struggles,” a weekly support group for new parents

 • Free monthly car seat safety checks

 • Seasonal schedule of classes for parents and grandparents

• Classes for tweens, teens, and their parents to support healthy lifestyles

• Infant & Child CPR and Adult CPR non-certification courses

• Parenting resources and support for families at Manning Family Children’s

• School and community workshops

• Parenting advice by phone

• Parenting tips on WWLTV

We are now serving the third generation of Parenting Center families! Babies of The Parenting Center playroom are coming back as parents, and their parents are returning as grandparents. We hope that our center continues to be a place for families to remember, trust, and revisit for years to come!
