As Executive Director of the South Louisiana Wetlands Discovery Center, I’m proud to invite you to support our Give NOLA Day campaign—an opportunity to invest directly in education that connects people to one of our region’s most vital and fragile resources: our wetlands.
Every dollar raised goes toward expanding and strengthening our educational programs. Through hands-on exhibits, school field trips, community outreach, and family-friendly events, we provide engaging experiences that help children and adults alike understand the importance of Louisiana’s coastal ecosystems. From learning how wetlands protect our communities from storms to discovering the wildlife that depends on them, our programs inspire curiosity, stewardship, and action.
For many of the students we serve, our programs offer their first opportunity to explore environmental science in a meaningful, memorable way. We are committed to making these experiences accessible to all—especially schools and families who may not otherwise have the resources to participate.
Your support allows us to:
- Develop and enhance interactive exhibits and curriculum
- Provide field trip opportunities for local schools
- Offer free and low-cost educational programming to the community
- Train educators and volunteers to deliver impactful learning experiences
- Foster the next generation of environmental stewards
This work is more important than ever. Louisiana is losing wetlands at an alarming rate, and education is key to ensuring that future generations are prepared to protect and restore these critical landscapes.
By giving on Give NOLA Day, you are not only supporting a nonprofit—you are helping build a more informed, resilient, and environmentally conscious community.
Thank you for believing in our mission and for investing in the future of our wetlands and our children.
