Compassion Outreach of America

Since 2008, COA has been heavily involved in violence reduction, education, youth development, workforce training, drug abuse counseling, blight reduction, and other Christian community development initiatives. The inspiration for and grounding Source for our work is Faith. As people of faith, we are called by God to pray and work together for the SHALOM of our most vulnerable communities. Our vision is to see individuals reconciled to God and fully engaged in helping their communities flourish.

FATHERS MATTER: Pro-father, pro-family movement that promotes fatherhood and brotherhood.

PROJECT REACH NOLA: COA’s signature youth em­ployment and development program designed to build character, develop leadership, and strengthen academic skills.

"Fathers Matter has given me a space to grow as a man, specifically as an African American male living in the inner city community. This program has also given me a brotherhood in the sense that we all come from different walks of life. The guys in the program have helped me become a better father through their advice on fatherhood. Some of these relationships have taken on a mentor feel with some of the guys talking with me more in-depth about what it means to be a man and how to be the best father I can be for my son." -Participant
