For A Time Such As This

Hi there, saints and friends.  Hopefully this fundraiser finds you well or well on your way to being so.

The work of First Grace Community Alliance (FGCA) is centered on two missions:  

     *  To provide free representation for undocumented children (Project Ishmael)

     *   To provide housing and support to unhoused women, children and trans folks (Hagar's House)

Both missions have never been more critical to our community than right now. 

Parents of undocumented children are being snatched from streets, job sites and even their annual immigration hearings.  This is leaving children with NO ONE.  The other necessary step that undocumented families are taking is staying home.  Project Ishmael delivers groceries to families fearful of just going to the grocery store or pharmacy.

In recent weeks, we have seen the very violent and deadly outcomes of domestic unrest.  Women (especially women of color) are being hurt/killed at the hands of their domestic partners.  So too are the children.  For the survival of women experiencing domestic violence and for the safety of their children, a refuge is needed.  A safe and undisclosed location for these families to exhale, restore routine, plan and commune.  

Hagar's House is such a place.

Your donations to FGCA provide this space and sustain the peaceful place for families to heal and regroup at no cost.  They reside together and create threads of support outside of domestic partners.  Families leave Hagar's House for permanent housing when they are ready.
