Teaching 1,000+ kids & adults to swim; from learning at 44 years old to leading change.

$5,000 goal

I learned how to swim at 44, and it changed my life. Just three months later, I started an adult swim class because I knew I wasn’t the only one who needed this skill. Today, as Program Manager of The 18th Ward’s swimming program, I’m proud that we are creating real change in our community by teaching both kids and adults how to swim. In a city surrounded by water, this is more than a skill, it is a lifesaving necessity.

Our program is especially focused on reaching black and brown children who have historically had limited access to swim education. In just one year, we have taught over 1,000 kids how to swim, building confidence, safety, and opportunity. Your support helps us continue this work, expand access, and ensure that everyone in our community has the chance to learn how to swim and stay safe in the water.
