Right now in New Orleans, there are 32 young parents working every day to build a better life for their children.
They are:
Attending college full-time
Working
Parenting
Navigating food insecurity, housing instability, and rising childcare costs
Some have lost childcare vouchers due to federal cuts. Others are one unexpected expense—a car repair, a missed shift—away from stopping out of college.
And yet—they continue to pursue their dreams for their families with a positive mindset. With the help of caring neighbors like you, they don’t have to do that alone.
Through Generation Hope:
Each Scholar is matched with a dedicated mentor
They receive tuition assistance
They have access to emergency support when life hits
And critically, they receive mental health counseling for themselves and their families
Peer community
This is the difference between:
A temporary setback and dropping out
Accepting less and long-term stability
A generational cycle continuing and a cycle breaking
