Weaving together key sustainability strategies, inside and outside the levee system, we are integrating a comprehensive suite of interventions:

Our interventions create urgently needed ecological infrastructure in communities: by cultivating bioretention gardens and freshwater inputs to recharge the groundwater critical for reforestation efforts, including riparian buffers, food forests, micro forests, and networks of canopy trees. Our integrated, nature-based approach applies nutrient transfer and pollution mitigation mechanisms, like biochar in order to mitigate localized hypoxia, to transform and regenerate coastal Louisiana.

To achieve lasting generational health and wellbeing for all ages, for all life, we must implement networked interventions attuned to the intricately connected, feedback loops ecosystems depend on.

Our nature-based interventions are essential for restoring wetlands: this illustrations shows how four low-carbon, Tribal-led interventions - backfilling canals, constructed floating wetlands, organic erosion wattles, and living shorelines - not only prevents further loss of land and biodiversity, but restores and regenerates systems critical to a thriving ecosystem.
