Daughters Beyond Incarceration (DBI) is a New Orleans-based nonprofit serving girls ages 8–18 who are living with the silent sentence of parental incarceration.
There are 94,000 children in Louisiana whose lives have been shaped by a parent's incarceration, not by anything they did, but by a system that too often forgets them. DBI exists to make sure these girls are not forgotten.
Through mentoring, advocacy, leadership development, and family support, we build a circle of care around each girl so that her parent's incarceration is not the defining chapter of her story. Our young people have testified before the Louisiana State Legislature, led community forums, and built the kind of resilience that changes the trajectory of entire families.
This Give NOLA Day, our board has come together as Champions for the girls we serve. Every member of the DBI board has created a personal fundraising page because they believe, as we do, that it takes a village to raise a daughter beyond incarceration.
Your gift, made through any board member's page, goes directly to DBI's year-round programs. One day. One community. One chance to show these girls they are worth fighting for.
Give NOLA Day is Tuesday, May 6. Minimum gift is $10. Every dollar counts.
