$10,000 Goal

Each year, Winston Rhea Scholars bridges the gap from aging out of care and stepping into adulthood.

This is done by providing four consecutive years of financial support, 1:1 mentorship, mental health support, career readiness, and community—the kind of unwavering presence most of us took for granted when we were college-aged. The results speak for themselves: 100% of scholars have a high school diploma or GED, 100% are enrolled in or have completed a higher education or trade program, and 0% have a criminal record. Your gift doesn't just support a program: it becomes the safety net that changes what's possible for youth who are told on their 18th birthdays they're on their own.

At Winston Rhea, we live and breathe by our belief that foster care may be a part of our past, but it does not define our future.

Winston Rhea Scholars was founded by Daniel Harris, a former foster youth who spent seven years navigating the instability of foster care—bouncing between homes, schools, and caseworkers—before two people changed the trajectory of his life. Named after his high school basketball coach and his volunteer court-appointed special advocate (CASA), Winston Rhea exists to extend that same life-changing support to young adults aging out of foster care.
