$10,000 Goal

Waldorf School of New Orleans (WSNO) is a private, non-profit, independent school that integrates academics with the arts, culture, and community. Our mission is to awaken and draw out each child's individual strength, allowing them to become free thinkers, courageous seekers of truth and knowledge, to be empathetic, enthusiastic participants in local culture and global society.

Waldorf School of New Orleans offers a developmentally appropriate, experiential, and academically-rigorous approach to education. The arts are integrated into all academic disciplines for children from preschool through eighth grade, to enhance and enrich learning. Every part of our curriculum aims to inspire life-long learning in all students, enable them to fully develop their unique capabilities, and cultivate adaptable problem solvers. Although Waldorf Education is 100 years old, its practices are in alignment with cutting edge research in child development. Science shows that the concepts central to our educational model - play and creativity - strongly contribute to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of children. These tenets have also proven to be integral to healthy brain development.
