Trystereo

A nonprofit organization

Trystereo is an all-volunteer harm reduction collective based in New Orleans, Louisiana. We were founded in 2011 to affirm the dignity of people who use drugs and to address limited resources in our community. We operate on the principles of harm reduction to offer material, educational, and advocacy support to people who use drugs and their communities in southeastern Louisiana.

OUR WORK

SUPPLY ACCESS

We run a mobile and street-based syringe access program with weekly drop-ins and a text hotline to provide fresh syringes and injection supplies, wound care kits, naloxone, education and linkage to care. In an average week we provide services to 250 people. We annually distribute 600,000+ syringes and over 30,000 doses of naloxone to community members in the greater New Orleans area.

EDUCATION

Naloxone Use & Overdose Prevention

Trystereo is a major sources of accessible naloxone, not only in New Orleans but across Louisiana through our partnership with NEXT Distro. Beyond supplying naloxone, Trystereo provides regular trainings on reversing opioid overdoses to our participants, allied organizations, businesses, schools, and the community at large.

From wound care tutorials to our flagship Destigmatizing Drug Use training, Trystereo offers a wide array of trainings for a variety of audiences. To request a training or to learn more about our work, please contact us at nolaharmreduction@gmail.com.
