Together Gert Town

Together Gert Town exists to enhance the quality of life for Gert Town residents by uplifting community leadership, stewarding shared resources, and expanding opportunities that reflect the voices, needs, and hopes of the people. Our work advances collective well-being and builds toward long-term equity for all who call Gert Town home.

Together Gert Town is a community-led organization committed to environmental and economic restoration in the Gert Town neighborhood of New Orleans. Formed in 2020 following grassroots organizing in 2019, we are now entering our sixth year of service, grounded in the belief that lasting change begins with those most impacted.

Residents initially came together to address urgent challenges identified through our 2023 Neighborhood Improvement Survey, including limited youth programming, illegal dumping and blight, gaps in healthcare access, and low civic participation. Today, Together Gert Town serves as a hub for action, advocacy, and collaboration, advancing resident-led solutions that honor community history, strengthen partnerships, and improve everyday quality of life.
