Temple Sinai of New Orleans is a warm and welcoming Reform Jewish congregation founded in 1870. We are an inclusive and diverse congregation engaging our community through worship, building connections from generation to generation, providing opportunities for Jewish learning and serving our greater community. Temple Sinai is the oldest Reform Jewish Congregation in the State of Louisiana. Temple Sinai is proud of our history of inspired rabbinic leadership committed to Tikkun Olam. For more than 150 years, Temple Sinai has been a spiritual home for Jews of all backgrounds, blending history, music, culture, and learning in a vibrant, inclusive community. Our professional and lay leaders strive to create a congregation that seeks to be a spiritual presence in the lives of its members in order to help cultivate and satisfy their religious, musical, cultural, emotional and intellectual interests and needs. Our rich history includes a strong tradition of providing quality Jewish programming and social justice initiatives that serves the New Orleans community, by engaging those outside the synagogue walls.
