Symphony Chorus of New Orleans

About this Organization

Symphony Chorus of New Orleans (SCNO) is an all-volunteer chorus that has provided superlative choral music to the greater New Orleans area for more than 35 years. In addition to local productions of choral masterworks like Handel's Messiah and Orff's Carmina Burana, SCNO has also appeared in New York's Carnegie Hall performing the Fauré Requiem (2007), Dvorak Te Deum and Memley Magnificat (2015).

SCNO helped to reopen the Saenger Theater after Hurricane Katrina. SCNO Singers perform annually the beautiful music of Handel's Messiah !

We have sung concerts in New York City at Carnegie Hall, as well as Florence, Italy. Our Music Director, Steven Edwards, has been invited to perform a chorus concert in Paris in June 2024.
