SpayMart

SpayMart's mission is to end animal homelessness through proactive, targeted spay/neuter initiatives and robust adoption programs.

Founded in 1998, the organization has been serving animals of the Greater New Orleans area and Gulf Coast region for over 25 years. 

SpayMart operates an adoption center iin our thrift store located in River Ridge, LA, as well as an adoption center located in PetSmart at the Elmwood Shopping Center in Metarie.

Community outreach programs include a sanctuary for cats abandoned or injured by disasters; spay/neuter pop up clinics held monthly, making the procedure available to those who otherwise would it find it cost-prohibitive; Kitten Foster, rescuing kittens too young to survive on their own and fostered until homes are secured; Senior for Senior, matching older, harder-to-place cats with seniors needing companionship; and pet retention, providing access to life-saving medical care for pets of families who are financially challenged.

Each program targets a population of animals at high risk should they enter area shelters, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero euthanasia across our state.
