Slidell Little Theatre

To Engage, Educate and Involve Members of the Community in High Quality Theatrical Productions

Slidell Little Theatre has enchanted audiences in St. Tammany Parish since 1963. SLT was founded by volunteers who recognized the need for live theatre on the Northshore. Volunteers from all walks of life unite to build sets, design costumes, choreograph, and act in theatrical productions which brings music, drama, and laughter to the Northshore.

Before finding a home at 2024 Nellie Drive (now next to the Fremaux Town Center) SLT performances were held at high school gyms, the city auditorium, and a remodeled church. Today SLT's state-of-the-art facility houses two stages, the main stage and the Allen L. Little Stage. SLT offers a 6 show main-stage season, 2 Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) performances, hosts several fundraising events, and devotes an entire summer to educating school-age children through its Young Actors Theatre of Slidell (YATS) program.

Slidell Little Theatre is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, all-volunteer organization showcasing the on-stage and off-stage talents of nearly 400 area residents, entertaining approximately 10,000 adults and children each season. All talent is local and all auditions are open to the public.

Memberships are the financial lifeline of SLT. It is through this support that Slidell Little Theatre is able to fulfill its mission; "to engage, educate, and involve members of the community in high-quality theatrical productions."

Slidell Little Theatre is a place for all family members from age 4 and up. It is a true family experience. While so many things in life today pull families apart, SLT provides opportunities for families to work together with other families building lifelong bonds and memories. As my children were growing up, my son, daughter, and husband were all in shows together and I often Produced those shows. We spent evenings and weekends together building sets, acting, singing, dancing, and just spending quality time together. I love SLT for how it helps builds relationships and family.
