A message from our Executive Director:
Since I began in June 2024, St. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue has saved over 400 animals from euthanasia in Louisiana and Mississippi - many from high-kill shelters and disaster zones.
We're a small team with big goals: help rural shelters reach no-kill status and become the emergency disaster hub for the Southeast, saving 1,000+ dogs a year.
When disaster hits, animals come to us - but we can't do it without you.
In under a year, we've completed 15 transports to northern rescue partners, focusing on large breeds and overlooked dogs. Every animal was cared for and loved - thanks to donors like you.
When storms strike, we act fast. We take in animals, send back supplies, and show up where no one else can.
One rescuer said a donated generator was air-dropped into an impassable area of North Carolina. That's the difference your support makes.
This GiveNOLA Day, please help us keep saying yes - to the next rescue, the next life, the next chance at hope!
Thank you for standing with us! Thank you for standing in the gap!

Executive Director
"Thank you for the work you do! We love the updates on the outcomes of the dogs pulled from high-kill shelters and put into foster/adoption!"
"I donate toSt. Francis because I know my contributions truly make a difference. Every dollar helps rescue animals from euthanasia, provides them with medical care, and transports them to safety."
"When we adopted Tilly fromSt. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, we had no idea how much love and joy she would bring into our lives! We are forever grateful for the work that they do!"
St. Francis Animal Sanctuary & Rescue, a 501(c)(3) non-profi t organization, is committed to providing a safe haven for animals in need. Our mission encompasses offering sanctuary to ill, un-adoptable, and elderly animals, while also providing rescue, medical care, and temporary shelter for adoptable animals until they fi nd loving homes.
We are dedicated to collaborating with animal welfare organizations, particularly high-need municipal shelters, to help lower euthanasia rates and achieve no-kill status. Additionally, we aim to promote responsible pet ownership through advocacy for spaying and neutering, proper vaccination, and the use of monthly preventatives.
