Responsibility House
About this Organization
We believe each individual is inherently sacred and demonstrate this belief by treating everyone with respect and dignity. We acknowledge the struggles faced by those seeking recovery, underscoring our deep commitment to serve those in need. This mission was inspired by the personal journey of our founder, Mike Martyn. His experiences with active addiction and subsequent recovery informed his understanding of the profound impact that treatment can have. Realizing the critical role of support in his own transformation, Mike was motivated to assist others battling similar challenges. In 1994, he founded Responsibility House, aiming to support men in crisis through a Residential Treatment Program designed to foster the initial stages of recovery for those pursuing sobriety.
By 2000, Responsibility House expanded its services to address the nexus of homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse. Recognizing how these issues are interconnected, we pioneered integrated treatment strategies that focus on treating the whole person. This comprehensive approach acknowledges all conditions that might hinder an individual from leading a productive and fulfilling
