Raíces Nuevas supports Garifuna youth in New Orleans by advocating for the tools and resources they need to navigate challenges, embrace their cultural identity, and build independent, fulfilling lives within a supportive community. Our vision is that Garifuna youth can confidently exercise their individual and collective right to participate and engage in a just society that grants them access to self-determination, resources, and justice without discrimination.

Raíces Nuevas is a nonprofit organization based in New Orleans, Louisiana, dedicated to empowering immigrant families, particularly the Garifuna community. Raíces Nuevas addresses the unique challenges faced by Garifuna youth aged 10 to 21, including linguistic isolation and cultural marginalization, by providing culturally relevant programs and resources.
