At Ozanam Inn, our priority is to offer aid and comfort to the most vulnerable in our community. While providing food and shelter is the foundation of our mission, it's only part of our work. To address the root causes of homelessness, we work directly with individuals to move them toward independence and a renewed sense of self-worth and pride. Through case management and counseling, comprehensive healthcare, adult education, financial literacy, and more, all under one roof, we help people in need realize their potential.
We give a fish to eat today and teach to fish for tomorrow!
Success Stories and Testimonials
Mariah spent a year in our residential/transitional program, working toward employment and long‑term self‑sufficiency. With guidance from her Case Manager, she overcame major barriers—including securing replacement government documents—and began rebuilding the foundation she needed to pursue her dreams.
Since January 2025, Mariah has worked as an instructor in the Adult Learning Center at Ozanam Inn, helping others grow and reach their potential.
On Friday, September 18th, she reached a milestone she once thought was impossible: she moved into her very own home and continues to work at the center! Mariah’s journey is a testament to resilience, partnership, and the life‑changing impact of supportive community programs.
Move-In Day!
Kimberly began her journey at Ozanam Inn in December 2025. Two months after arriving, she enrolled in a one-year Billing and Coding certification program through Goodwill Technical College. She now works part-time while attending school full-time, balancing work and education as she prepares for a new career.
For Kimberly, Ozanam Inn has provided the stability she needed to focus on her goals and create a path toward independence. With determination and a clear vision for her future, she has made meaningful progress in just one year.
By December 2026, Kimberly hopes to be settled into a home of her own and ready to begin the next chapter of her life. Her story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when someone is given the opportunity, support, and time to rebuild.
"My Story started 30 years ago when I found myself homeless and eating out of the dumpster. My addiction led me to homelessness. I slept on the street for five years. Being on the street led me to Ozanam Inn. There, I found unconditional love after nine months, I was given a second chance at a better life. Today I am a homeowner, and I am married I have my own business, and I sit on the board of directors of Ozanam Inn, but most of all I am an advocate for the homeless."
Jessie Pullins, Ozanam Inn Board of Directors - VP of Alumni
“I am so thankful for the Ozanam Inn for not only helping me get back on my feet but for offering a program that allowed me to get my Paralegal certificate from Loyola University. Through the WIOA program, the Inn helped me get my certificate paid for in full. As a crew member at the Oz, there are so many opportunities to further yourself if you only take advantage of them.”
Crystal is a former Ozanam Inn resident and now a current Ozanam Inn staff member.
“I came here broken, but left stronger, with a future I never thought possible.”
Adam graduated from the Ozanam Inn residential program a year ago and now lives and works in Paris composing music, his lifelong dream.
Whenever Adam is home visiting relatives, he comes to volunteer at the Inn.
Reisha is a current resident of Ozanam Inn, working daily to get back to the family she loves and who love her dearly.
Her parents came to visit and volunteer, we loved meeting them and look forward to the day when they are reunited for good!
In response to our call to charity, Ozanam Inn provides food, shelter, compassion, and hope to individuals in need, serving each person with dignity and respect.
