New Orleans Legacy Association of Bands

We exist to restore and preserve the historic New Orleans band culture while providing young people opportunities for growth both as a musician and as an individual.

The New Orleans Legacy Association of Bands was founded by a group of New Orleans Musicians with a mission to revitalize, cultivate and celebrate our precious band culture. Our community of supporters who recognize that music is a lifeline for the youth in our great city!

Our Flagship Program is the HBCU Band Combine. This event is a College recruitment fair that gives New Orleans area high school seniors the opportunity to earn scholarships by auditioning with multiple Historically Black College & University bands in a single day. It includes a Dance Clinic, educational seminars for students, their parents. It is a very inclusive event.

We also host an Annual Band Directors Conference so that we, Our band directors and the community can work together as a collective to build better musicians and promote a better life and better world for our young students which is our primary focus.
