Mt Zion Lutheran Church

Mt Zion Lutheran Church is the oldest Black Lutheran congregation established on April 18,1878; we are currently preparing to celebrate 148 years in existence serving our surrounding community in New Orleans.

Through Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML), we help financially support international mission all over the world, encouraging literacy and feeding programs and at home with supplying needed support, clothing, health supplies and personal care items to seniors and homeless shelters.

Feed the Hungry - Every second Saturday each month we feed the hungry and homeless in our community with a hot meal and cool drinks.  For Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, along with our live nativity, Feed The Hungry hot meals and attached scripture passages, we give small personal gifts to each person fed.

Senior Outreach - once a month we sponsor Bingo to the Guste Hi-Rise community providing toiletries and sundries as prizes for the participants, we also share fruit baskets and wrapped gifts (needed toiletries and sundries) as Christmas gifts. 

Vacation Bible School - In late July we have vacation bible school for kids
