LE PETIT THÉÂTRE DU VIEUX CARRÉ

About this Organization

Le Petit Theatre strives to present theatrical productions of the highest artistic quality which contribute positively to New Orleans' rich cultural economy. Le Petit Theatre has been a cornerstone of the New Orleans arts community for more than 100 years.

Le Petit Theatre dedicates itself to productions designed to reflect the New Orleans community, appealing to both locals and tourists. A key goal is to continually engage new audiences, while employing local and regional actors and technical theatre processionals and providing approximately $500,000 back into the local economy annually. In the 2024-2025 season, Le Petit Theatre employed more than 200 local actors, designers, educators, and technical theatre professionals.

Le Petit Theatre's Education Programs serve 2,000 students in the Greater New Orleans area annually. Through actor training for young people in the Young Conservatory, job training in technical theatre in the Workforce Development Program, and access to theatre through its free student Matinee Series, Le Petit offers a comprehensive approach to theatre education.
