Lafourche Arc
About this Organization
Lafourche Arc is dedicated to working on local, state, and national levels to raise awareness of our mission. We support people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to acquire job skills, identify employment opportunities, and develop home living skills to become more independent in the community. Trained staff work with individuals to teach skills such as money management, meal preparation, and specific job oriented tasks. This process provides program participants with opportunities for continued growth and independence. Our goal is to foster an environment within the communities we serve where all people are accepted as individuals with their own abilities who can participate in community life. Lafourche Arc works to creatively support individuals with diverse and challenging needs so that they may become a part of their community. We support individuals with complex medical needs including but not limited to traumatic brain injuries, tube feedings, catheterizations, etc. Our services allow individuals to remain in the comfort of their own home while still having their medical needs met. We support approximately 300 individuals throughout seven parishes.
