$5,000 Goal

Louisiana Appleseed solves our state's toughest problems at their root cause by advocating for Access to Justice, Opportunity, and Education.

Giving to this campaign helps low income, vulnerable community members with generational property grow their wealth, and protect their assets from predatory practices. Historically, these communities have been taken advantage of, impacting their families for generations. With our legal resources and extensive network of pro bono professionals, entire communities can capitalize on wealth building strategies, fight blight and abandonment, and ensure long-term economic sustainability.

Our initiatives have served thousands of people: Appleseed's Heirs' Property Project, unlocking over $16M in economic benefits to homeowners since 2007; Feed More for Less Project, increasing public school access free breakfasts and lunches for children across the state from 65% to 95%; and Civil Legal Aid Supports Louisiana Project that has secured $3.5M in state appropriations since 2019.

On this GiveNOLA Day, help us develop meaningful, sustainable solutions that help justice take root.

What your donation will fund:

$25 will fund the printing of 35 free resource guides
$500 ensures one person walks away from one of our wills clinics with a will, a medical power of attorney, and a living will.
$5,000 allows us to produce a locally made educational video—bringing Louisiana-specific education to the masses (like the Wills Clinic and Heirs' Property videos on this page. Our wills clinic video has reached over 2,000 people)

This year is also special because we are part of the 2026 Freeman Foundation Challenge—for every $2 donated in 2026, we get an additional dollar matched. So every 2026 donation will be maximized to go even farther, and ensure our ability to provide these resources for years to come.
