Jewish Children's Regional Service
About this Organization
Since 1855, Jewish Children's Regional Service (JCRS) has served vulnerable Jewish children and families across seven Mid-South states. JCRS provides outreach services and needs-based scholarships for youth with special needs, Jewish summer camp, and college aid. In 2024, more than 1,700 youth were impacted through our work, including more than 60% of Jewish youth from Greater New Orleans, ages 17 and under.
* 750 Jewish children, ages 6 months to 11 years, served by the PJ Library® and PJ Our Way programs
* 465 JCRS camp scholarship aid recipients attended 55 different Jewish overnight camps
* 268 Jewish youth and 30 institutionalized adults were provided Hanukkah gift packages
* 120 undergraduate students attending 55 different colleges received financial aid
* 27 students from immigrant families received college aid
* 59 Jewish youth served in special needs case management, including 49 youth with emotional and/or developmental disorders, and/or dependency needs, received funding for services and therapies, including youth with autistic spectrum disorders, mood and anxiety disorder, cognitive, speech/language and other developmental delays, ADHD and other learning differences
