ABOUT gaudanse

gaudanse (Gaudanse, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Imani Gaudin in 2020, is a collective of artist rooted between New York and New Orleans. It is composed of multidisciplinary artist, weaving together elements of dance, performance art, music, film, culinary arts, and visual arts. The grail of gaudanse is to investigate movement languages, aiming to create works that transcend mere aesthetics, addressing poignant and thought-provoking matters. With a commitment to social impact, the collective aspires to stir conversations that resonate on both the micro and macro levels, provoking contemplation on a spectrum from the minutiae of individual experience to the grand tapestry of humanity.

Since its founding in 2020, gaudanse has raised over $168,600 through grants, donors, commissions and residency support. Organizational impact includes:

● 7 production premieres (3 interdisciplinary)

● International debut in Paris and 5 U.S. tours

● World premiere of nanibu and 4 NYC premieres

● 9 residencies supporting 15 paid artists

● 400+ audience members reached through free and sliding-scale access
