About this Organization
The Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestras (GNOYO) has been recognized locally, nationally and internationally for its excellence and outstanding commitment to music education. This is GNOYO's 29th season of providing quality musical education and performance opportunities to thousands of young people in the Greater New Orleans Area. Since COVID our newly created intergenerational orchestra has allowed us to provide performance opportunities for all ages in a nurturing, engaging and inspiring environment. GNOYO's exciting concerts include all genres and styles of music ranging from Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinsky's Firebird Suite and Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture to John Williams' Jurassic Park to Duke Ellington to local composers such as Mike Rihner, Ellis Marsalis, Jimbo Walsh to International renown performers such as Ellis Marsalis, Michael White, Grayhawk Perkins, Tony Dagradi, Midori & Don Vappi
More than 400 young people ages 5-25 from the Greater New Orleans Area; including the Orleans Parish, the Northshore, Houma, Ponchatoula, Chalmette, and Cut Off currently participate in GNOYO programs. GNOYO is committed to making its programs accessible to all area youth.
