Excellence has been the standard and motivation for the Friends of King School District since 2006. We began with one school located in the historic Lower Ninth Ward Community and expanded our mission to the Treme Community. Our mission is to create and maintain an orderly, trusting environment where teaching and learning are innovative and exciting; where students are taught to read , write, compute and think critically according to their fullest potential.

Our district is governed by a board of directors that lead our dedicated staff members. We firmly believe that all employees of Friends of King School District must believe in our educational vision and mission. FOKS schools apply the COMER process. This process promotes the collaboration of parents, educators, and community to improve social, emotional, and academic outcomes for children which helps them achieve greater school success. Coupled with our rigorous, high-quality academic instruction, our school district educates the whole child. Our curriculum includes: hands- on learning, state of the art computer -based classes, medical coding, and enrichment classes.
