Every child deserves to see themselves reflected in what they learn. We provide South Louisiana students with transformative, curriculum-aligned field trips that bring the art, culture, and history of their community to life. By connecting students with local culture bearers—musicians, artists, and tradition keepers—we create powerful, real-world learning experiences that inspire pride, deepen understanding, and spark curiosity.
Your support ensures that cost is never a barrier, opening the door for students to explore their heritage, strengthen their confidence, and engage more deeply in school. Together, we are preserving culture, uplifting communities, and shaping the next generation.

"The presentations were so engaging to the students. I, too, learned alot about art, music, culture of New Orleans. The activities integrated the knowledge they gained from the presenters." - Aimee F. Teacher
"Our experience was amazing! The presenter interacted extremely well with the kids and kept their interests as she masterfully told stories about NOLA culture and history." - Marcus R. Teacher/Band Director
The Cultural Curriculum Project's mission is to enrich public education in South Louisiana by developing, coordinating, and funding New Orleans Public School field trips that connect students with the art, culture, and history of South Louisiana. Through the emotionally powerful experiences of New Orleans music, art, and culture, the Cultural Curriculum Project addresses the urgent need to develop students' social-emotional competencies: self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
We connect students with culture bearers and community leaders, who are paid a living wage to share their talents, traditions, and personal stories. This work promotes cultural preservation, supports a sustainable cultural economy, and sows seeds of lasting knowledge. By intentionally integrating social-emotional learning into every experience, we help students grow not only academically, but also personally and creatively. Rooted in education, arts, and community, we foster a deeper connection between young people and the cultural legacy of South Louisiana, ensuring a future where both students and the region's vibrant traditions thrive.
