Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana

About this Organization

We're losing rich, productive wetlands and the bounty and protection they provide us at an alarming rate. CRCL champions the need to take action. Not only do we advocate at the state, local, and federal levels to ensure that restoring and protecting our communities is a top priority for our state and nation, we provide the opportunity to participate in protecting their future!

Our restoration programs are a critical way for residents to engage in hands-on coastal climate solutions. Our Native Plants Program engages volunteers to help restore our coastal wetlands by planting native plants and trees in vulnerable wetland areas. As part of our Oyster Shell Recycling Program, we use shells collected from local restaurants and households to build oyster reefs, which help slow shoreline erosion and minimize storm surges during hurricanes.

We also work directly with coastal communities and fishermen to learn from those with local ecological knowledge about the impacts affecting our coast and we share this and science-based information with our next generation to help develop future coastal leaders.

Join us as we recycle, restore, and advocate for our culture, economy, and future!
