Children's Advocacy Center - Hope House

About this Organization

In 2024, Hope House served 618 child abuse victims. Many of the children continued to find recovery through specialized victim advocacy and counseling. Forensic Interviewing provides law enforcement, prosecutors, and child protection investigators the evidence and information needed to ensure justice and safety for children. Interviews are conducted in a non-leading, age appropriate manner by specially trained interviewers and are admissible in a court of law. Children are referred to CAC Hope House through law enforcement/Department of Children and Family Services investigators following allegations of abuse. We offer forensic interviewing allowing the child to disclose his/her experience in a safe, child-centered environment. We offer specialized counseling and advocacy services to children and their non-offending caregivers. All services are free of charge.

After a child is interviewed, he/she may return to Hope House for trauma-focused counseling. Counseling is an essential component to the healing process and ending of the pattern of abuse. Counselors are trained to work specifically with abused children, using the trauma-focused treatment model.
