Located in the Marigny neighborhood of New Orleans since 2010, Byrdie's is a place for the community to explore clay arts. We offer classes, membership, and a storefront shop for members to sell their pottery. Studio membership offers unlimited access to the studio, equipment, and glazes. Our community is vibrant with members ranging from hobbyists to working artists and everything in between. Our storefront shop features work made in the studio by members. We donate 20% of Byrdie's monthly sales revenue to a different (usually local) organization doing important social justice, harm reduction, and/or equity work. We recognize that pottery studios are predominantly run and accessed by white people, and we are committed to dismantling that reality by creating and holding space for BIPOC. We hold two spaces open in every class and offer 50% off specifically for BIPOC, so that access can be reserved for folks who previously may not have seen themselves taking a class and/or have been historically disenfranchised.
