Big Sky CARES (Community Animal Resources and Education Services)/CATNIP Foundation (Care, Advocacy, and Treatment for Neglected and Indigent Pets) is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal welfare organization devoted to providing valuable programs to shelters, rescues and families in need in communities in an underserved region, mired in generational poverty and attitudes about animals, and where access to affordable veterinary care is very limited. Our programs include Low-cost spay/neuter and affordable veterinary care, adoption, transport, TNR, Barn Cat Placement, Seniors for Seniors, indigent care, pet food bank and boarding spaces to assist victims of domestic violence or other traumatic life events program. These programs directly lower the number of animals entering shelters, save lives and most importantly preserve the human animal bond, in a state where shelter deaths are among the highest in the country.
