Established in 2023, we are continually driven by a deep commitment to addressing the pressing needs of vulnerable populations in the region of the Deep South. Since our start, BSLA has expanded its scope and impact, laying the groundwork for a sustainable community-driven organization dedicated to supporting those most in need in New Orleans and the surrounding parishes. Below Sea Level Aid offers services on the Westbank and in rural parts of Orleans parish. We recognize that these communities are underserved when it comes to accessing harm reduction, healthcare, and social support. Most of the city's resources are concentrated in central areas, creating barriers for individuals in rural parts of the city that face lack of transportation, fewer healthcare facilities, and limited access to harm reduction services. By making our services mobile and meeting people where they are, will help bridge these critical gaps and ensure that life-saving resources are accessible to all.
