Basket of Hope Louisiana

Basket of Hope is a 501c3 non-profit supporting hospitalized children and their families year round in Pediatric hospitals across Louisiana. The mission is to give HOPE from the community to seriously ill children, while offering encouragement to the entire family through a hospital visit and delivery of a Basket of Hope which includes an age appropriate basket full of toys, games, crafts, educational materials and more. The parents are also ministered to during the personal visits and offered a "Hope Tote" which is full of items to nourish them physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Each Basket of Hope is valued at over $400.

Basket of Hope Louisiana has been serving sick children and their families for over 15 years in over 10 partner hospitals and centers. We are self sufficient in fundraising and love building relationship with individuals, businesses and organizations to further our mission. During a Basket of Hope hospital visit, every patient receives an age appropriate basket of valuable play items which also includes items for siblings. This is a free gift from the community to bless and encourage them as they often feel isolated and forgotten while battling a serious illness or recovery from a traumatic injury. The basket items promote play which helps a child to heal, brings joy, a sense of control, normalcy and comfort while in the hospital. "Hope Totes" are offered to the parents and contain a bible, journal, Hope necklace, inspirational books, snacks, toiletries and MORE to strengthen them and build their faith while on their journey of caring for their child. These items make up a Basket of Hope and serve to nourish the entire family- physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, as a reminder that God loves them. We partner with many celebrities to join us on the visits.
