Albert Schweitzer Fellowship - New Orleans

A nonprofit organization

The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship - New Orleans (ASF NOLA) is preparing the next generation of professionals who will serve and empower vulnerable people to live healthier lives and create healthier communities. Our vision is to create a global corps of leaders who promote positive change with and in our communities, our health and human service systems, and our world.

The Albert Schweitzer Fellowship - New Orleans relies entirely on grants and charitable contributions from people like you to fulfill our mission of addressing health inequities by developing Leaders in Service.

By supporting ASF NOLA, you make a two-fold difference:
1. Cultivating lifelong community leaders pursuing careers in health and human services
2. Immediate change in the health and wellbeing of underserved individuals in Greater New Orleans

Since 2007 ASF NOLA has mentored 133 graduate student Fellows. In turn, they have carried out over 26,000 hours of community service through yearlong, high-impact projects that address social determinants of health in the Greater New Orleans area. When the initial service year ends for the Schweitzer Fellows, the difference they're making doesn't: they carry on their commitment to service and health equity as members of the international Schweitzer Fellows for Life alumni network, now over 4,000 strong.

The Fellows honor the legacy of Nobel Peace laureate Dr. Albert Schweitzer. Support them with a tax-deductible donation to improve the health of New Orleans residents.

Testimonials

"The Schweitzer Fellowship connected me with like-minded, caring professionals and reinforced that a career is worthwhile only if it improves others' lives."

"I'll wear my Schweitzer pin every day. It taught me that team-based care is the future. I've proven I can lead a mission-driven, high-performing team, and investing in the team is the most valuable use of time."
