About this Organization

We produce professional works of original, devised theater; serve incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women; partner on environmental and climate justice projects in Louisiana; and work with multiple organizations in various sectors to transition Louisiana away from its dependence on extractive industries and to create an equitable community where all can thrive.

The LCIW DRAMA CLUB has served as a creative healing space for women incarcerated at The Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women since 1996, producing dozens of original performances and directly serving hundreds of participants.

THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS (as Told by Grandmother to Little Red) is a performance-based outreach project in collaboration with St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church and its Center for Faith + Action that uses the story of Saul's "conversion experience" as a call for an awakening to the role the church has played in creating and sanctifying the United States' inequitable criminal legal system. The piece has been presented in New Orleans and has toured to churches and community centers across Louisiana and beyond.
