Antenna

A nonprofit organization

Antenna is a New Orleans–based multidisciplinary cultural nonprofit that supports artists and cultural workers through exhibitions, publishing, public programs, and regranting. Rooted in equity, collaboration, and ethical labor practices, Antenna provides vital resources for BIPOC, LGBTQ-GNC+, immigrant, other-abled, and historically under-resourced creatives.

For GiveNOLA 2026, your donations will strengthen Antenna’s Emergency Fund offering rapid, flexible financial support to artists facing urgent hardship. This fund protects housing, health, and creative continuity during moments of crisis, ensuring that the voices shaping New Orleans’ cultural life can endure. Your support sustains care, resilience, and the future of community-driven art in the city.

Testimonials

“As a documentarian, a former medical social worker, and someone who has been housing insecure for the better part of a year, I reached out to Antenna seeking to stabilize and pursue my artistic endeavors.

What I found is something rare — radical acceptance. I am no longer a charity case that others view as radioactive. Antenna’s investment in me, granting me space literally and figuratively, respects my dignity and honors my agency, my autonomy, my humanity — the very things conventional systems were stripping away during my hour of need.

That belief is fostering my confidence and propelling me forward with the Transit Time Capsule, a project that honors the collective memory of the people who hold a city together. Antenna is giving me a professional infrastructure that isn’t just support. It’s the recognition that if the artist disappears, the work disappears — and if the work disappears, the community loses its history.”
-Kimberly Summerlin

“ We were a completely volunteer crew of concerned residents of New Orleans who decided to do something to take care of each other through Hurricanes. Then as other calamities kept occurring and we kept making ways to support each other - we decided to document how we take care. As we were finishing our workbook, Antenna offered us design support that made the difference between our book being a loose collection of ideas - to being an actual well designed workbook. In particular, Monica Mejia went above and beyond to support us in mapping out our steps towards the finish line of a project that involved many moving parts. Antenna even printed a simplified version of our workbook for the 2024 hurricane season, giving us more time to complete the workbook.”

“ Antenna is a community-oriented hub that builds relationships between New Orleans artists, culture bearers, activists, and organizers by creating spaces that amplify their voices. The support and opportunities provided by the Antenna Press Publishing Grant allowed me to share my work with so many people.”
-Amy Kennedy, writer
