Anna's Place NOLA

About this Organization

Anna's Place NOLA is a year-round youth education and mentorship program of St. Anna's Episcopal Church that has served 1000 young people since 2010. Located in the Tremé neighborhood, AP-NOLA takes a whole child approach to disrupting the cycles of poverty and violence prevalent in New Orleans by providing mentorship, interdisciplinary instruction, and outside educational and cultural experiences.
Anna's Place NOLA Offers
* A safe, welcoming, and inclusive facility for youth between the ages of 5 and 18
* Assessment of student's academic proficiency and emotional state
* Academic enhancement
* Social, emotional & life skills training
* Arts education to stimulate creativity
* Job readiness and career preparation
* College, trade school, and private/specialty school preparation
* Exposure to new experiences through field trips
* African-American cultural education and racial-ethnic socialization
* A hot meal
* Transportation to the program

* 30% improvement in reading comprehension & spelling
